Doniphan County, Kansas

Doniphan County is located in northeast Kansas. It is named for Alexander William Doniphan, an important figure in the Mexican-American War.
The seat is Troy while the largest city is Wathena. It is located across the Missouri River from St. Joseph, Missouri.

The county borders Atchison and Brown Counties in Kansas, as well as Holt, Andrew and Buchanan Counties in Missouri; in addition to Richardson County in Nebraska.
Main highways through the county include US-36 and K-7.
